General Motors News:The End Is Near for Saturn As Penske Pulls Out October 7, 2009 The end is quickly approaching as Roger Penske announced September 30 that he is no longer in the running to purchase Saturn. The deal was supposed to close in September, but troubles ended up killing the deal and will ultimately kill the Saturn brand. General Motors announced that without Penske the Saturn brand will be shut down. Auto Auction News:2009 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction News April 11, 2009 The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction was April 9-11. General Motors News:First 2010 Camaros Roll Off Line March 17, 2009 GM has said that 14,000 2010 Chevrolet Camaros have been sold sight unseen by the customers. The first two went to NASCAR owner, Rick Hendrick, who bought the rights to the first two off the line at the recent Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, AZ. Hendrick paid $350,000, which went to the American Heart Association, which gave him the rights to the first Camaro off the line and GM threw in VIN number 2 as part of the deal. The Most Expensive Non-Running GTX Hammers Off at $175,000 June 7, 2008 On June 7 at the estate auction for the late John Ott Farra in Malvern, Pennsylvania, one of the items was a 1968 Plymouth GTX with a Hemi 426 engine. The auctioneers, Paisley Auctions, Inc., described the car as "a real survivor", but also said that they couldn't confirm that it was a numbers matching car in the auction listing. Before the car was auctioned off, auctioneer Rodger Paisley, announced that the transmission was in working condition according to their independent inspections. However, the car was without battery and was reported that the engine was possibly siezed up, but they could not confirm.
