The Ford Championship Weekend is next. The Trucks start things off on Friday with the Ford 200 and Austin Dillon holds a 20 point lead over Johnny Sauter and 28 points over James Buescher. All three of them are in Chevrolets. But, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is in a Ford and will attempt to hold off Elliott Sadler in his Chevrolet in the Ford 300 on Saturday. Stenhouse should be able to capture the championship as he leads Sadler by 41 points. Then, on Sunday, the 2011 season concludes with the Ford 400. Carl Edwards continues to hold a 3 point lead over Tony Stewart as they head to Homestead for the finale. If Stewart wins the race he's the champion, but Homestead is a strong track for Edwards so it won't be an easy task for Stewart as they go head to head for the title.
Kasey Kahne won at Phoenix to end a winless streak going all the way back to 2009. Kahne led Edwards in second and Stewart in third. The points were even among the two though as the one point Edwards got for beating Stewart, Stewart offset it by leading the most laps and getting a bonus point.
Kevin Harvick is third in the points, but is 51 behind Edwards and mathematically eliminated from the championship battle and will be working to hold off Keselowski, Johnson and Kenseth to remain third in the points.
